Overview

On the Orange Islands, a collector named Lawrence III sets out to capture the three legendary birds — Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno — believing that seizing them will draw out Lugia, the Beast of the Sea. His scheme throws the islands’ weather into chaos, and the balance of nature itself begins to break down.

Ash, Misty and Tracey arrive on Shamouti Island in the middle of its festival, where an old legend speaks of a chosen one who will restore harmony by gathering three elemental treasures. When Lawrence’s plan puts the legendary birds — and Lugia — in danger, Ash must step into the role the prophecy describes, crossing a storm-tossed sea to bring the treasures to Shamouti’s shrine.
