Pokémon the Series: Black & White sends Ash Ketchum off to a brand-new region for a fresh start. Leaving familiar gyms and rivals behind, Ash arrives in Unova — a land full of Pokémon he has never seen before — and sets out to challenge its gyms, make new friends and chase his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master all over again.
Overview
Black & White is the season of Pokémon that takes Ash to the Unova region. Everything feels new here: the towns, the gyms and the Pokémon themselves are ones Ash has never encountered, so even a veteran trainer has to learn from scratch. Travelling alongside him are Iris and Cilan, two new companions who bring their own goals and personalities to the journey.
The season leans into that sense of discovery. Ash rebuilds his team with Unova Pokémon, takes on the region’s gym leaders one by one, and faces fresh rivals who test him in ways he has not been tested before. It is a clean jumping-on point for new viewers and a welcome reset for long-time fans: the same Ash, the same dream, but a whole new region to explore.
