Overview
Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! retells the start of Ash Ketchum’s journey as a fresh, standalone adventure. Oversleeping on the morning he is meant to receive his first Pokémon, Ash ends up with a wild and stubborn Pikachu that refuses to obey him or even stay inside its Poké Ball. The two clash at every step, yet a dangerous encounter soon forces them to trust each other.
From there, the film follows Ash and Pikachu across the Kanto region with new friends at their side, chasing the legend of the rainbow-feathered Ho-Oh and the promise it holds for a true Pokémon Trainer. Along the way they face old rivals, a shadowy new foe, and a test of what their partnership really means, in a story that celebrates how Ash and Pikachu first became inseparable.
