Overview
Inuyasha begins when Kagome Higurashi, a modern schoolgirl, falls through an old well near her family’s shrine and lands in feudal Japan. There she frees Inuyasha, a half-demon pinned to a tree by a sacred arrow, and discovers she carries the Shikon Jewel, a powerful gem sought by demons.
When the jewel shatters, Kagome and Inuyasha must travel together to recover its shards before they fall into the wrong hands. Along the way they are joined by the monk Miroku, the demon slayer Sango and the young fox demon Shippo, while the villain Naraku schemes to gather the shards for himself.
