Leviathan

Overview

Leviathan opens in an alternate 1914, on the edge of a war that will reshape Europe. Its world runs on two rival technologies: the steam-powered machines of the Clankers and the living, fabricated creatures of the Darwinists. Caught between them is Aleksandar, a young Austrian prince forced into hiding after the assassination of his parents, carrying secrets that make him a target for both sides.

His path crosses that of Deryn Sharp, a Scottish girl who has disguised herself as a boy so she can serve in the British Air Service. When Aleksandar and his crew take refuge aboard the great living airship Leviathan, the two teenagers are thrown together, and their unlikely partnership becomes the key to a mission that could stop a world war before it begins. Based on Scott Westerfeld’s novel, the series pairs old-fashioned adventure with a vividly imagined steampunk world.
