Overview
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is the first live-action Pokémon film, and it brings the world of Ryme City to life in a way no animated film could. When private detective Harry Goodman goes missing, his son Tim arrives in the city and discovers that he can understand Harry’s former partner, a wisecracking Pikachu wearing a detective’s cap.
Directed by Rob Letterman and starring Justice Smith as Tim, with Ryan Reynolds voicing Pikachu, the film follows the unlikely pair as they dig into Harry’s disappearance and a mystery that reaches across the city. It is a warm, funny adventure that works just as well for newcomers as for long-time Pokémon fans.
