Overview

At school, Kyoko Hori is the popular, put-together student everyone admires, while quiet Izumi Miyamura keeps to himself at the edge of the class. Away from school, though, both of them look very different: Hori runs her household and looks after her younger brother in plain, no-makeup mode, while Miyamura hides piercings and tattoos beneath his gloomy image. When a chance meeting outside school blows both of their covers, the two start spending time together in a friendship neither of them expected.

Based on the manga by HERO and Daisuke Hagiwara and animated by CloverWorks, Horimiya is a warm school romance built on small, honest moments rather than big drama. As Hori and Miyamura let each other into their private worlds, their circle grows around them — Toru Ishikawa, Yuki Yoshikawa, and the rest of the class — and the series follows the group through everyday school life, first love, and growing up.
