Overview
Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia begins in the ordinary-looking town of Arcadia Oaks, where school life, homework and friendships hide a much older world underneath the streets. When teenager Jim Lake Jr. stumbles on a mysterious amulet, he is pulled into that hidden world and chosen for a role he never asked for: the Trollhunter, protector of both humans and trolls.
What makes the series easy to enjoy is how it balances that big responsibility with everyday teenage life. Jim still has to get through school, keep secrets from his mother, and look out for his friends, while learning to fight, to lead and to make choices that affect two very different communities. His best friend Toby brings humour and loyalty to the journey, while Claire adds courage and a sharp sense of what is right.
Created by Guillermo del Toro, the show mixes fantasy adventure, comedy and coming-of-age drama. Beneath Arcadia, Trollmarket is full of ancient rivalries, powerful artefacts and creatures who are far more complex than they first appear. Across its three parts, the story grows darker and more ambitious, but it keeps its heart in friendship, responsibility and standing up for people who cannot defend themselves.
