Overview
Futaro Uesugi is a broke, top-scoring high school student who takes on a tutoring job that pays five times the usual rate, only to discover his students are the Nakano quintuplets: five identical sisters who are all failing school. Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba and Itsuki share a face but nothing else, and none of them wants a tutor. The series follows Futaro as he slowly earns their trust, one study session and one misunderstanding at a time.
The show works because the comedy grows out of character: each sister has her own way of resisting, teasing or warming to Futaro, and the romance builds slowly as he learns to tell five identical faces apart by personality alone. It is an easy, warm watch that stays light even when the sisters’ school troubles get serious.
