Overview
American Dragon: Jake Long is a Disney Channel animated series that follows Jake Long, a 13-year-old Asian-American kid growing up in New York City. Like any teenager, he juggles school, friends, skateboarding and family life, but he also carries a big secret: he is the American Dragon, the latest in a long line of magical guardians.
As the American Dragon, Jake must protect the magical creatures secretly living among humans, while keeping his dragon identity hidden from the ordinary world. Trained by his grandfather Lao Shi and helped by his talking dog Fu Dog, Jake learns that being a hero is as much about responsibility and balance as it is about fire-breathing powers.
