Overview
Big City Greens is a Disney Channel animated comedy that premiered on June 18, 2018. It follows 10-year-old Cricket Green, a mischievous and optimistic country boy whose family trades their rural farm for life in Big City, moving in with his sharp-tongued Gramma Alice. Suddenly surrounded by traffic, skyscrapers, corner cafés and endless city rules, Cricket treats every sidewalk and supermarket like a brand-new adventure, usually with chaotic results.
Created by brothers Shane and Chris Houghton with Monica Ray, the series mines its comedy from the clash between the Greens’ country ways and city living: Bill tries to keep the family grounded, Tilly befriends every animal she meets, Gramma Alice refuses to soften for anyone, and Cricket’s best friend Remy and neighbor Gloria get pulled into the chaos. Across five seasons, the family runs a farm stand, works at the Big Coffee café, faces off against businessman Chip Whistler and keeps finding that home is less about the place and more about the people in it.
