Overview
Kid Cosmic is a 2021 animated series from Netflix, created by Craig McCracken, the animator behind The Powerpuff Girls. It follows Kid, an imaginative and enthusiastic boy living with his free-spirited grandfather Papa G in a quiet desert town, whose daydreams of heroism suddenly come true when he discovers five powerful cosmic stones. The stones grant superpowers to Kid and his friends, and together they form the Local Heroes, a homemade superhero team determined to protect their town and the planet.
Being a hero turns out to be much harder than Kid imagined. The Local Heroes are brave and big-hearted, but they are also inexperienced, and their early missions often go sideways in funny and chaotic ways. Across three seasons, from 2021 to 2022, the team faces alien invaders, travels into space to track down the remaining Stones of Power, and slowly grows into Earth’s greatest champions, with Kid learning what real leadership and teamwork mean along the way.
