Overview

A new region means a new beginning, and for Ash Ketchum that beginning is Sinnoh. In Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, Ash and Pikachu head north to a land of snowy mountains, busy port towns and Pokémon they have never seen before. Waiting there is Dawn, a bright new Trainer from Twinleaf Town who dreams of becoming a Top Coordinator like her mother. With Piplup at her side, Dawn is just starting out, and her first steps into contests are every bit as important to this season as Ash’s first steps toward a new set of Gym badges.

Brock soon rejoins the group, and the three travel together through Sinnoh with two very different goals pulling them in the same direction. Ash chases Gym victories against leaders such as Roark and Gardenia, while Dawn learns how to present her Pokémon in contests, helped and challenged by rivals including Zoey and Kenny. Paul, a cold and demanding rival who treats his Pokémon very differently from Ash, keeps forcing Ash to question his own approach. Team Rocket is never far away, and the season’s mix of gym battles, contests and roadside adventures makes Sinnoh feel like a fresh, wide-open chapter rather than a repeat of earlier journeys.
