Overview
Star Trek: Lower Decks follows the support crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos, one of Starfleet’s least important ships, in the year 2380. While the bridge crew handles the big missions, ensigns Beckett Mariner, Brad Boimler, D’Vana Tendi and Sam Rutherford keep the ship running, and try to keep up with their duties and their social lives as the Cerritos is rocked by one sci-fi anomaly after another.
Created by Mike McMahan, the series is a half-hour animated comedy set in the Star Trek universe. It ran for five seasons of ten episodes each, from its premiere on August 6, 2020, to its finale on December 19, 2024, and it works as a love letter to Star Trek that still stands on its own for newcomers.
