Overview
StarBeam is a Canadian animated children’s series from Netflix that follows eight-year-old Zoey, an ordinary second-grader in the seaside town of Somerset who hides an extraordinary secret. Whenever trouble strikes, Zoey slips away, calls on her catchphrase, and transforms into StarBeam, a pint-sized superhero who draws her powers from a juicebox and saves the day with speed, strength, and boundless enthusiasm. With her loyal seagull sidekick Kipper and her friend Boost at her side, she stands up to a parade of colorful villains, from the greedy Captain Fishbeard to the shape-shifting Goop.
Created by Loris Kramer Lunsford and Jason Netter, the show premiered on Netflix on April 3, 2020, and ran for four seasons and 41 episodes through 2021. Its short, bright episodes mix gentle humor with simple lessons about kindness, teamwork, and helping others, making it an easy watch for preschool and early-grade viewers — and a light, cheerful pick for family viewing.
