Overview
Chise Hatori is a fifteen-year-old girl who has known little but loss and loneliness, until a mysterious inhuman mage buys her at an auction in London. Elias Ainsworth, a sorcerer with a skull-like head and a deep knowledge of old magic, takes her to his cottage in the English countryside and offers her something she never expected: a home, an apprenticeship, and a future as his bride.
From there the series follows Chise as she learns the ways of mages, meets fairies, dragons and other folk of the old world, and slowly learns to value her own life. The second season moves the story to the College, a school for young sorcerers, where Chise searches for answers about the curse that limits her life while new dangers gather around her classmates.
