The Legend of Korra

Overview

A new Avatar for a new age. Set seventy years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra follows Korra, a confident and headstrong teenager from the Southern Water Tribe who has already mastered water, earth and fire. All that stands between her and full Avatar status is air, so she travels to Republic City — a buzzing, steampunk metropolis where benders and non-benders live side by side, and trouble is never far behind.

Across four Books, Korra’s journey grows darker and more personal. She faces Amon and his Equalist revolution, a civil war between the Water Tribes, the anarchist Zaheer and the Red Lotus, and finally Kuvira, the self-styled Great Uniter. Between the battles, the series digs into Korra’s own struggles with identity, fear and recovery, asking what it really means to keep the world in balance. The result is a sequel that honours its predecessor while standing firmly on its own.
