Tomo-chan Is a Girl!

Overview

Tomo Aizawa is the toughest kid in her high school — a karate-trained tomboy who can flatten any boy in class. The one person she cannot beat, though, is her own heart: she has been in love with her childhood friend Junichiro Kubota for years, and he still treats her like one of the guys. When she finally works up the courage to confess, his baffled reaction kicks off a comedy of missed signals, stubborn pride and very public embarrassment.

Across 13 episodes, Tomo tries everything from dressing more femininely to spelling her feelings out in plain words, while her friends Misuzu and Carol stir things up in their own chaotic ways. Underneath the jokes, Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is a warm story about wanting to be seen for who you really are — and about whether a friendship built on roughhousing and teasing can grow into something more.
