Hilda

Overview

Hilda is a fearless, blue-haired girl who grows up in a stone house in the wilderness with her mum, surrounded by creatures most people never get to see: elves who file complaints about paperwork, trolls who turn to stone in daylight, and a giant who carries the whole world on his shoulders. When Hilda and her mum move to the walled city of Trolberg, her adventures only get bigger. She befriends the cautious Frida and the nervous David, keeps company with Alfur the tiny elf and Twig the deerfox, and treats every strange encounter as a chance to help someone.

Based on Luke Pearson’s graphic novels, Hilda is gentle without being boring, funny without being loud, and quietly emotional in a way that sneaks up on you. The show’s hand-drawn world is full of soft colors and storybook charm, and its stories are really about kindness, curiosity, and learning to understand creatures that seem scary at first. It works beautifully for kids, and it is just as rewarding for adults who love a well-told adventure.
