Overview
Set in a divided future Japan, Akudama Drive follows an ordinary young woman who is swept into the orbit of six notorious criminals known as Akudama. What begins as a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time becomes a high-stakes journey across Kansai, where every job pulls her deeper into a world of daring heists, ruthless enforcers and shifting loyalties.
What sets the series apart is its bold, stylish energy and its cast of characters defined by their roles rather than their names — Courier, Brawler, Hacker, Doctor, Hoodlum and Cutthroat. Their clashing motives keep the tension high, while the ordinary girl at the centre, later called Swindler, gives the chaos a human anchor. Across its single season, the show builds from breakneck action to a surprisingly emotional finish.
