Overview
Disenchantment is an adult animated fantasy comedy from Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama. Set in the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, it follows Princess Bean, a hard-drinking, free-spirited royal who would rather carouse than sit on the throne, along with her unlikely companions: Elfo, a naive elf who leaves his cheerful homeland for the messier human world, and Luci, her sharp-tongued personal demon.
Across five parts, Bean’s misadventures grow from bar-room escapades into a sprawling story of magic, family secrets, and rebellion, as Dreamland faces threats from inside its walls and far beyond them. The show pairs Groening’s trademark irreverent humor with a genuinely serialized fantasy plot, so the jokes carry real stakes as Bean slowly grows into the queen she never wanted to be.
