Overview
In the year 198 of the Solar Era, Tokyo lives under a strange and terrifying threat: ordinary people can suddenly burst into flames and turn into blazing creatures known as Infernals. To fight this danger, the city relies on the Special Fire Force, brigades of firefighters who combine rescue work with combat skills and, in many cases, the power to control fire itself.
The story follows Shinra Kusakabe, a young third-generation pyrokinetic who can ignite his feet and move at extraordinary speed, a talent that earned him the nickname Devil’s Footprints. After joining Special Fire Force Company 8, led by Captain Akitaru Obi, Shinra works alongside Maki Oze, Iris, Arthur Boyle and the rest of the company. What starts as a fight against Infernals soon grows into a deeper search for the truth behind the fires, the mysterious Evangelist, and Shinra’s own past.
