Samurai Jack

Overview

Samurai Jack follows a noble warrior who is flung far into the future by the evil shape-shifting wizard Aku, just moments before he can defeat him. Stranded in a strange world ruled by Aku and his robot warlords, Jack takes up his quest anew: to find a way back to his own time and undo the dark future that Aku has built.

What sets the series apart is its striking visual style and its patience. Long stretches of silence, bold shapes and painterly backdrops do as much storytelling as the dialogue, and Jack’s adventures swing between quiet, thoughtful episodes and spectacular battles. Across five seasons, the show builds from a lone hero’s journey into a sweeping finale, as Jack finally faces Aku — and discovers an unexpected ally in Ashi.
