Toradora!

Toradora! is the kind of romance that starts with a misunderstanding and grows into something far warmer. Ryuuji Takasu looks like trouble, Taiga Aisaka acts like trouble, and together they are the most unlikely pair in their school — which is exactly why their story has stayed popular for so long.

Overview

Ryuuji is a kind-hearted second-year student whose sharp eyes make classmates keep their distance. Taiga is small, loud and famously fierce, earning her the nickname Palmtop Tiger. When their paths cross, the two discover a useful secret: Ryuuji likes Taiga’s best friend Minori, and Taiga likes Ryuuji’s best friend Yuusaku. They strike a deal to help each other get closer to their crushes.

What begins as a practical arrangement slowly turns into a real friendship. Living in the apartment next door, sharing meals, bickering over homework and showing up for each other at school festivals and Christmas parties, Ryuuji and Taiga start to understand each other in ways nobody else does. Toradora! is funny in its loudest moments and quietly moving in its softest ones, and it earns its emotional ending by letting its characters grow up in front of the audience.
