Overview
Viper’s Creed is a 2009 mecha action series set in a near-future world still scarred by war and environmental collapse. In the aftermath of a devastating conflict, private military companies have taken on the dangerous work once left to national armies, and the story follows one such unit as it takes on missions in a city where old loyalties and new threats collide.
At the centre of the action are the Maneuver Blades, powerful powered suits that give their pilots extraordinary speed and strength in close combat. The series balances large, fast-moving battles with the human cost of fighting for hire, as its soldiers weigh duty, survival and the people they are supposed to protect. Created by Shinji Aramaki and animated by AIC Spirits and Digital Frontier, it is a compact, hard-edged science-fiction series that leans on atmosphere and action rather than a long, sprawling cast.
