Overview

At Kunugigaoka Junior High, Class 3-E is where the school sends its lowest scorers — an isolated classroom on a mountaintop, cut off from the main campus. Then a strange new teacher arrives: a grinning, yellow, tentacled creature who has already blown the moon into a crescent and promises to destroy the Earth within a year. His one condition gives the class an impossible assignment — kill him before graduation — with a reward of ten billion yen for the student who succeeds.

The catch is that their target, Koro Sensei, is also the best teacher they have ever had. Faster than a jet, nearly indestructible and endlessly patient, he coaches each misfit toward their strengths while dodging their daily assassination attempts. Assassination Classroom turns that absurd premise into a warm, funny and surprisingly moving story about a class of outcasts learning to believe in themselves, one failed murder plot at a time.
