Overview
In a kingdom where a person’s worth is measured by the skill they are born with, Fate Graphite starts at the very bottom. His skill, Gluttony, looks like a curse: it leaves him constantly hungry and gives him nothing that other people can admire. Working as a lowly gatekeeper, he is overlooked, mocked and kept far from the powerful holy knights who guard the realm.
Everything changes when Fate is forced to fight for his life and discovers what Gluttony really does. Each time he defeats an enemy, he can take on that enemy’s strength and skills, growing stronger with every battle. Guided by Greed, a talking black sword with its own sharp opinions, and drawn into the orbit of the kind-hearted holy knight Roxy Heart, Fate begins a dangerous climb from the margins of society toward the secrets at the top of it. The series balances fast, bloody action with a simple question: can a power built on hunger ever be used for something good?
