Overview

At Seishun Academy, third-year students take part in a very unusual class: the “marriage practical,” a course that pairs a boy and a girl together and has them live as a pretend married couple. Points earned in the course can be traded for a chance to switch partners, so everyone has a reason to play along. For gloomy, introverted Jiro Yakuin, the draw is a disaster: he is paired with Akari Watanabe, a bright and outgoing gyaru who could not be more different from him.

The catch is that both of them already have someone else in mind. Jiro has long admired his childhood friend Shiori Sakurazaka, while Akari is chasing the school’s popular heartthrob, Minami Tenjin. The two strike a deal: act like the perfect married couple, rack up the points, and then swap partners to be with their real crushes. But living under one roof has a way of blurring the line between pretending and feeling, and the longer the act goes on, the harder it becomes to tell which is which. Based on the manga by Yuki Kanamaru, the series is a warm, funny and occasionally awkward take on first love.
