Overview
Snowball Earth follows Tetsuo Yabusame, a shy young man whose closest companion is Yukio, a giant robot who once fought beside him against invading kaiju. A decade after that desperate battle, Tetsuo comes home to a world he barely recognises: Earth has been transformed by a deep freeze, buried under endless snow and ice, and the people he knew are scattered across a harsh new landscape.
What gives the series its pull is the contrast between its scale and its heart. The frozen planet, the towering machines and the creatures that prowl the ice are spectacular, but the story stays close to Tetsuo himself — a reluctant hero learning to trust others again, keep a promise to Yukio, and find a reason to keep moving when the world feels lost. Survivors, makeshift communities and old dangers all shape a journey that mixes science fiction, adventure and quiet, emotional moments.
