Overview
Set between the events of Star Wars: Episodes III and IV, Star Wars Rebels follows the crew of the starship Ghost in a dark time when the Galactic Empire is tightening its grip on the galaxy. Jedi Kanan Jarrus, ace pilot Hera Syndulla, street-smart teenager Ezra Bridger, warrior Sabine Wren, the powerful Lasat Zeb Orrelios and the cantankerous astromech droid Chopper take on missions against the Empire, defending those who cannot fight for themselves and helping to spark a wider rebellion.
Created by Simon Kinberg, Dave Filoni and Carrie Beck, the animated series ran for four seasons on Disney XD, from 2014 to 2018. Its story builds toward the original Star Wars trilogy, introducing Grand Admiral Thrawn as a major villain and bringing back familiar faces, and several of its characters later returned in live action.
