Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun

Overview

At Kamome Academy, every student knows the rumor: if you summon Hanako-san, the ghost of the girls’ bathroom and the seventh of the school’s Seven Mysteries, she will grant you a wish. Nene Yashiro, a hopeless romantic who only wants to be united with her crush, dares to try it. Her shock is complete when the legendary girl turns out to be a boy: Hanako-kun, a cheerful, mischievous spirit in a school uniform and cap who loves donuts and teasing his visitors.

After a mishap binds Nene to Hanako-kun, she becomes his assistant, and the two of them set about keeping the fragile balance between the world of the living and the apparitions that haunt Kamome Academy. Alongside Kou Minamoto, an exorcist-in-training from a family of spirit hunters, they deal with mermaid curses, cursed staircases and jealous spirits. The second season raises the stakes with the clock keepers who govern the flow of time at the academy, and with the secrets of Hanako’s own past and his twin brother Tsukasa.
